Chelmsford
South Woodham Ferrers Town Hall – 17th March 2008
Participants: Local Community Members
Artists: Kenneth Emson, Hannah Tyrrell-Pinder, Henry Maynard, Bronya Deutsch, Matt Addis
Participants took part in an introduction to improvisation workshop led by a professional playwright and director. Throughout the workshop participants were placed into scenario’s that bared some resemblance to a local conflict of which they had shown interest. With the help of the actors they came up with short drama’s looking convey and in turn mediate this conflict through the method of improvised performance.

Mercury Theatre Studio – 25th February 2008
Participants: Act Five Theatre Group (Mercury Theatre affiliated community group)
Artist: Kenneth Emson
Participants took part in a writing workshop led by a professional playwright. Through a variety of exercises they were encouraged to evaluate the notion of heritage and community drawing from own experiences to create a short piece of text.

Chadwell Defoe Parade Hall – 27th February 2008
Participants: Thurrock Writer’s Group
Artists: Kenneth Emson
Participants took part in a writing workshop looking at stimulus to creation exercises. Each of these was designed to get participants writing drawing on own experiences and local history building up to a location exercise drawing on a picture of a block of flays as stimulus

Thurrock II
Horndon Village Hall – 16th March 2008
Participants: Gable Hall Students, Diving Through Time members (Local Community Group)
Artists: Kenneth Emson, Hannah Tyrrell-Pinder, Owen Frost, Sam Millard, , Sarah Llewellyn-Shore.
Using stimulus brought to the workshop by actors, participants took part in a variety of devising and improvisation exercises. Each member got the opportunity to work in a small group with a professional actor in the creation of a short piece of drama.
